I was just recently thinking of some things I do to take care of myself so I thought I’d share with everyone:
Wash your face, seriously, use a gentle cleanser or a rough scrub, whatever makes you feel better, I like st. ives apricot scrub because that stuff is heavenly, just don’t use it too much or it’ll dry out your skin
Change into clean clothes, wearing the same clothes for days or just staying in pajamas isn’t going to help, wash those clothes and put on all fresh clothes
Keep your lights on and blinds open, sitting in the dark will really only help if you’ve got a bad headache and are sensitive to it, brighten up your space and it may brighten you up, I recommend string lights because they aren’t harsh and they create a tranquil environment
Light a candle, pick your favorite smell and light it up, my new favorite is “vintage lace” from target, it’s relaxing and a nice smell may cheer you up, but please maintain fire safety because a fire will not cheer you up
Make something or doodle, keep your mind active, I personally like origami or writing, but just do something to keep your hands moving, shifting your focus to something else will help
Play a game, I personally like playing animal crossing because it’s a low-key calming game, but you can find loads of calming games online if you look for them, again with keeping your mind active
Express your feelings, whether it’s texting a friend or writing them down for only yourself, getting them out will help you, an remember all of your feelings are completely valid and don’t be afraid to reach out for help
Treat yo’ self, get a popsicle or some ice cream or whatever the heck you enjoy, though something healthy may be better in the long run so maybe make a smoothie or have some cold fruit, but you do you, friend
I could probably list a bunch of other things, but here’s some of the basics. Take care of yourselves, lovelies ♥♥♥
